Weekly group therapy

Weekly group therapy (adults) at Willow Tree Centre with a qualified, experienced and registered therapist.

Led by Belinda Moller

The value of attending a weekly therapy group

The individual is fundamentally social in nature, living his or her life with other people in families, friendships, work and other social groupings. A group of men and women meeting weekly can explore the relationship between the individual and the group in a creative way, resulting in a better integration of the individual with his or her family, workplace and social network. Group therapy is suitable for family, workplace and relationship difficulties, addressing the challenges of parenting, depression, anxiety and stress, loss and bereavement, feelings of isolation and low self-esteem, and for working through past and current traumas.

Benefits of weekly group therapy

  • The group can provide an opportunity to learn and reflect on the origin and nature of disruptive patterns in the self and in others, leading to greater understanding and the possibility of change towards more flexible thinking;
  • The group process provides feedback and reflection and, as a result, a broader range of interpersonal skills;
  • The experience of being in a group may initially be challenging but, through engagement with others, contributes to a sense of well-being and belonging;
  • Group therapy offers the potential for lasting personal change.

Practical aspects

  • The group meets in Willow Tree every Tuesday evening from 6.30-8pm.
  • The fee is €35 per meeting, payable monthly in advance.
  • Regular breaks and holidays are scheduled, and planned well in advance.
